Product Description

The Platinum Red Dragon Guppy (Poecilia reticulata) is a selectively bred variety prized for its shimmering platinum body and vibrant, patterned red caudal fin. For a single pair, a 10-gallon (45-liter) aquarium is the recommended minimum to maintain stable water parameters and provide swimming space.
Ideal Tankmates
Select peaceful companions that will not nip at the guppies' flowing "dragon" fins.
Bottom Dwellers: Corydoras Catfish or Kuhli Loaches are perfect as they occupy different water levels and help scavenge leftover food.
Schooling Fish: Small, peaceful species like Neon Tetras or Harlequin Rasboras complement the guppy's active swimming style.
Invertebrates: Cherry Shrimp and Nerite Snails are compatible and aid in algae control.
Avoid: Aggressive or fin-nipping species such as Tiger Barbs or large Cichlids.
Environment & Parameters
Water Conditions: According to AquaTropics and Mosaic Tropical Fish, maintain a temperature between 74–80°F (23–27°C) and a slightly alkaline pH of 7.0–7.8.
Aquascaping: Use a sandy substrate and dense live plants like Java Moss or Anubias to provide hiding spots, especially if you intend for fry to survive.
Filtration: A sponge filter is ideal as it provides gentle flow, preventing delicate fins from being damaged and ensuring newborn fry are not sucked into the intake
