Tank mates: Peaceful, active fish. Tank mates should be other similarly-sized, non-aggressive African fish like Congo tetras, African red-eyed tetras, and certain peaceful African cichlids. You can also house them with bottom-dwelling catfish such as Synodontis catfish, suckermouth catfish, and Corydoras, but avoid housing them with smaller, more timid fish that they may outcompete for food.
